Pedro is a fourth-generation coffee producer whose precision and care have earned he 2025 Honduras Coffee Golden Cup. With over two decades of experience, he has built a reputation for meticulous farming practices and a deep respect for the land.

His farm, Finca Maria Bonita, is known for its rich biodiversity and commitment to balance, where sustainability and innovation work hand in hand. Pedro continues to experiment with new varieties and processing methods, all with a focus on quality and environmental harmony.

Why We Chose This Coffee

This washed Gesha Landrace is a perfect fit for our Roaster’s Selection Series, a program designed to showcase coffees carefully selected by our roasting team. These selections reflect what excites us most, whether it’s a standout lot from a recent competition, a new origin we’re exploring, or a profile we think deserves the spotlight. Expect surprises, bold flavors, and a direct line to our roaster’s palate.

Pedro’s lot stood out immediately for its clarity, complexity, and depth. It’s the kind of coffee that reminds us why we love this work: intentional farming, long-term relationships, and the ability to share something truly special in every cup.

The Cup

With only 400 coffee trees farmed for this lot, Pedro was able to develop one of the most fascinating coffees in the Honduran coffee market. This rare lot captures flavor notes that makes competition level Gesha’s so sought after: elegant florals, vibrant and intense tropical fruit, and a smooth, silky body that lingers. The perfect expression of its origin and craft.
